Non-hazardous waste management:
Local solutions
Specializing in the comprehensive management of non-hazardous and hazardous waste, the SCLAVO ENVIRONNEMENT Group operates a number of ICPE (Installation Classified for Environmental Protection sites in the Var and Alpes-Maritimes departments, all of which comply with French and European health and safety standards.
These non-hazardous waste sorting and recovery centers, like the Eco Pôle de Fréjus, provide a direct operational response to the needs of professionals in the industrial, construction and automotive sectors, as well as local authorities and institutions.

Our Eco-Relays collect local waste and send it to the Eco-Poles for sorting and packaging, to optimize the flow of waste to recycling facilities. The Fréjus Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling Eco-Pole, for example, is both the hub and the engine of HHW management. A real structuring tool for the region, this facility was created to provide an immediate, concrete and coherent response to local waste management issues. Its main purpose is to recover and recycle waste from the construction and industrial sectors on the Côte D'azur. The aim is to recover 85% of waste.
Whether in the form of materials or energy, a recovery process is set up for each waste product processed at the site, with priority given to local processes.

Operational levers for non-hazardous waste management
The 5-stream decree requires the sorting at source of paper, metal, plastic, glass and wood waste generated by businesses, administrations and shops in the course of their activities.
- Personalized audit of your site to develop a customized response
- Voluntary drop-off at one of our drop-off centers (open to businesses and private individuals)
- Iron and metal purchases
- Purchases Cardboard Paper Plastic
- Authorized Collection Solutions. Your waste is collected by fully equipped trucks and trained personnel.
> Provision of containers (drums, tanks, public works tippers, ampliroll tippers, compactors, etc.) adapted to your waste, directly on your worksite or in your company. - Eco Chantier, an effective way to save on the cost of managing your non-hazardous waste
- Eco Atelier, a solution dedicated to reducing management costs and buying back your recoverable waste, especially automotive waste.
Recyclable non-hazardous waste: typology
Non-hazardous waste is waste which does not present any of the "hazardous" characteristics listed in Appendix I of Article R 541-8 of the French Environment Code (toxic, explosive, corrosive, etc.).
The SCLAVO ENVIRONNEMENT group provides optimized management of all non-hazardous waste (paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, wood, scrap metal, metals, ordinary industrial waste, all-rounders, biowaste, construction waste, etc.) with a view to maximizing its recovery from materials and energy.
Paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, green waste, glass, biowaste, rubble, sludge... whether it comes from households via selective collection, from voluntary drop-off centers or from businesses of all sizes (industries, SMEs, craftsmen, shops, etc.), which arrive at our processing points (Éco-Parc...), mixed or not, can be given a second life.
MIXED NDW is non-household waste produced outside the home or by a professional activity (industrial, craft, commercial, etc.).
Class A wood: untreated wood such as whole and broken pallets, rafters, formwork, planks. Class B wood: non-hazardous treated wood such as structural timber, exterior and interior woodwork, chipboard, MDF and melamine, isorel, crates, drums, metal-framed crates, old furniture, unglazed doors.
PVC, PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, PS, ABS, foams... the recycling of industrial plastics is growing steadily.
Focus on materials recovery
- And yet, one tonne of recycled plastic saves 830 liters of oil.To take a look at a waste product that's making headlines around the world, there are five main families of recyclable plastic: polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polypropylene (PP).Once collected, plastic packaging waste is sorted by plastic family and baled, then sent to a processing plant for pre-washing and further sorting. Shredded into flakes, then washed, rinsed, dewatered, dried, sieved and regenerated, they become granules.
- Sorted and baled paper and cardboard become FCR (Fibres Cellulosiques de Recyclage), a new raw material that can be further processed into paper towels, newsprint, writing paper...
- Non-recyclable paper, transformed into pulp, becomes raw material for industry
- Inert waste(stones, earthmoving and demolition materials, bricks, glass, etc.) accounts for around 65% of construction site waste. Sorted and recycled, it is reused as fill.
Your used paperboard is a valuable resource for the paper industry.
We are a major player in the PACA region in terms of collection and purchasing.
A major challenge, highly regulated, with an overall recovery target of 70%.
