Spring clean-up on Sunday at Saint-Raphaël’s Vieux-Port, where some twenty people, most of them volunteers, braved the wind and cold for a good cause. Members of the “Aquapassion” association and the “Aventure sous-marine” diving club, who initiated the Port sans déchet project (first edition), together with the Société Nationale du Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) and staff from the Régie des ports, spent a good three hours collecting rubbish in shallow water. To collect this unwanted waste, the SCLAVO group provided the “diver-cleaners” with an 8m3 skip. Only 2m3 were needed, as the bottom of the Vieux-Port basin was relatively clean. Good news, according to the Régie, especially for a port facility located in the city center.

It’s worth noting, however, that some “unusual” items have been reported by these volunteers. A baby stroller, a shopping trolley, a truck tire! As well as more conventional objects such as plastics, advertising flags, 2 bar chairs and scrap metal from a building site… Photos: Michel Eisenlohr Article: ville de Saint Raphael
