Waste-to-energy<\/h3>\n

Energy recovery involves using the calorific value of waste by burning it and recovering this energy in the form of heat or electricity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Non-hazardous waste not suitable for material recovery is compressed into cubes, also known as \"CSR bales\" (Combustible Solide de R\u00e9cup\u00e9ration)<\/strong>, and supplied to certain fossil fuel-consuming industries such as cement works. Wood, such as pallet wood and sawmill offcuts, is crushed and used as fuel for boilers. <\/p>\n
